In the series »Nicht öffnen!« (2024-2025), the artist deals with repressed traumatic events, fears and everything we would like to forget. However, these repressed contents of consciousness are not really forgotten and dealt with, but only locked away. Jürgen Sobkowiak visualises this state of locking away and repression by means of veiled and closed objects that give no outward indication of what is hidden inside. This encourages the viewer to visualise their own thoughts and feelings. The series is still in the development phase and currently comprises 15 works.
