In today's thoroughly digitised world, it is time to seek out a confrontation with reality that can be experienced by the senses. In the series »Vom Festhalten der Sekunde« (2025), Jürgen Sobkowiak focuses on everyday life. He seeks the poetically fleeting moments, the special in the incidental. The artist is concerned with capturing the seemingly endless passage of time and the traces it leaves behind as it slowly fades away. He adopts the position of a silent observer who immerses himself in the observation of details in his surroundings and explores the apparent banality of everyday life. The works are intended to challenge thinking and inspire the senses. The series is still in the process of being created and currently comprises nine works.
